  Question from Karen, Fremont, CA:

    Dear Coach June:
A reality check is needed here. I've said I want to do this and that and one year passes and I don't. If I coached with you what would you do to help me actually make my New Year Resolutions an actual goal that I'd complete?

Dear Karen;

Them darn New Year's on-going resolutions! Burn that list! Let's start at the beginning:

I'd ask a few of important questions:
1. What do you want differently in your life at this time?
2. How are you going to get it?
3. What are you willing to do (and give-up) to get it?

Simple questions but very revealing to what holds importance and has value to you, how much you thought about it, what's your plan to achieve it? what must change within you and your life style and schedule to include your the new (or old) goals?

I'd like to know if you've been working on where did you see the "weak" step?
Why haven't you fulfilled it?

Afterward I'd like to know more about your other goals, and visions for a fulfilling life.

I always ask new clients to tell me what they want and in detail. I want to hear and see it in my own mind too. And if I don't, the client is not as clear as she or he thinks she/he is.

It's not complicated. What complicates goals is an unclear image of what it is you are creating. It is not a good way to start the journey of successfully attaining goals. Most people get stuck at not knowing which step to take next.  That's okay. Experience will come with each step forward no matter how small one might think it is.  With each step you will gain greater clarity of the value of the goal and also, what you missed before or what is needed now.

One of the most powerful aspects about coaching is learning how to keep it simple by bottom lining what you want to create. Direct path to attainment.

This is what I want to achieve. Reasonable and attainable goals come from visions.

If you have a plan, and perhaps have implemented it already, I'd like to hear it and beginning planning with you by brainstorming and often, playing the Devil's advocate.
That is taking your plan a part to find why it hasn't been working.

Oh I do love that roll! Clients often get fed-up around that time because I am challenging them. But you'll love the change and wins when we get through that hellish time.

We'd do some fun and enlightening exercises: One the Wheel of Life where you rate your satisfaction level on such parts of life as money/ job/career/health/relationships, rest and relaxation, personal growth and significant other. This Wheel of Life is incredibly revealing and helps us balance your life out - meaning -often before achieving one goal, some other aspect of your life must be balanced. Love this!!

The next wheel is the Wheel of Possibilities. Oh man! Does Coach June love this wheel too! All the possible ways of attaining what you want. If I had a plug nickel for all the clients that started out with, "I don't have any choices" or "There's only one way to do," and only to fill in that 8-slice pie! Yahoo!

Coach June (if you read about her) is highly intuitive and this will help clear up the path of goal attainment for you. I would include your aura and more to help you recover a sense of authenticity in this world of choices/

When shall we start, Karen?
